PHP WEB DEVELOPER

LendAround.com is an exciting new startup that has hit the headlines at TechCrunch, BoingBoing and Lifehacker. We're building tools to help people lend and borrow things with their friends, starting with DVDs, and our private beta has seen an explosion of members and items listed.
Armed with some venture capital from highly respected investors from the industry, we’re now expanding – and that means putting more resource into building a world-class database-driven LAMP-stack back end.
We’re a small, friendly, and informal team, working out of a warehouse office with wooden floors and high windows close to the hip and edgy Portobello Road and Golborne Road. Surrounding us in the building are a range of talented people from the worlds of media, graphic design, photography, journalism and lots more.
If you’re a really talented PHP developer, with the ambition to be part of something really big, then this will be your dream job.
Key roles
- Working in a small but growing team of web developers, you’ll have a chance to liaise with everyone else in the company from graphic designer to CEO.
- You’ll be writing clear, well-documented code and doing some paired programming.
- We want your ideas as well as your execution: we’re building a fantastic service for users, you can help shape how we make it work robustly, and offer new functionality.
- You’ll regularly be on the lookout for technologies we can use, and you’ll have every chance to develop your skill set so your next job will be leading your own team.

That will include some big changes and improvements to our front end, which means a lot of work and a lot of potential input for a front-end developer. It’s a chance to design a rich interface from the ground up, for what could be one of the fastest-growing web sites of 2010.

Key roles
- Working with our heavyweight back-end developers and talented graphic designer, and liaising directly with our CEO, you’ll be the owner of the front end.
- This means you’ll make sure that great visual ideas are translated into robust, lightweight code, and that our users get what they want quickly and beautifully.
- We want your ideas as well as your execution: we’re building a fantastic service for users, and we need your input on how to make it look stunning.
- You’ll regularly be on the lookout for technologies we can use, and innovations in user experience and interfaces.
- You’ll be trained in how to do fast, efficient user testing.
Essential skills:
- Superlative abilities with the web's frontend technologies: HTML/XHTML, CSS and Javascript.
- Knowledge and several years’ paid experience in designing web interfaces.

Scriptaculous or JQuery

TEST ANALYST
Permanent
Salary: £25K
Location: near Portobello Road, London W10
If you have some strong commercial experience as a test analyst, perhaps with one job and a year’s experience under your belt, then this is the perfect job for you. It could put your CV on the map, and help you move on to a more senior job as a developer.
The key role is working as part of a talented development team writing tests for new functionality. Ideas and input outside your area of work will be welcome, and you may have the chance to do one or two other things, too.
The essential skill we need is experience writing tests for a web application, preferably using Selenium.
Nice-to-haves would include experience with PHP, HTML, CSS or Javascript; and with Symfony and Lime.

MARKETING, PR AND ONLINE COMMUNITIES INTERN WITH US FOCUS
You'll be working across the activities of a small but fast-growing
company, getting exposure to our team's experience in software
development, web design, marketing, venture capital, and journalism.
You'll report directly to our CEO, who's one of London's most
connected people in the Internet space.
What's on offer is an internship of three months upwards, in which
you'll be paid a stipend of £100 a week. In return, we can offer:

Key responsibilities and learning opportunities

Qualifications, skills and experience
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the United States is essential for
this internship.

- You'll have great communication skills, and be good on the phone
